Iranian blackened death metallers Sargas release new live video for “Matrix Moon”

The Tehran band revisit their 2022 single with an official video built around footage from one of their live performances in the Iranian capital.

Iranian blackened death metallers Sargas have released a new official music video for “Matrix Moon”, using footage captured during one of the band’s live performances in Tehran.

Formed in Tehran in 2018, Sargas originally released “Matrix Moon” as a standalone single on 18 February 2022. Their most recent major release is the three-track EP Historia, released on 8 May 2025.

“Matrix Moon” explores destruction, transformation and the collapse of what is perceived as sacred, with the moon acting as a symbol of something seemingly permanent and familiar becoming fractured and transformed.

The new visual connects that concept with a real moment from the band’s live history in Tehran.

The official video for “Matrix Moon” is out now.
