Iranian progressive/post-rock band Ahoora release archival fourth album We Were Here: Tehran 2011

Recorded in Tehran in 2010–2011 and left unfinished for more than a decade, the nine-track album finally gives Ahoora’s suspended fourth chapter an official release.

Iranian progressive/post-rock band Ahoora released their fourth album, We Were Here: Tehran 2011, on 10 June 2026.

Formed in Tehran in 2001, Ahoora previously released Ahoora in 2006, All in Blood with You in 2007 and Awkward Diary in 2010, becoming part of Iran’s underground progressive rock and metal scene.

Work on a fourth album began in Tehran during 2010–2011. The material was written, arranged, recorded and mixed during that period, but the album was left unfinished when the band entered a long hiatus.

The recordings were originally intended to feature vocals, although they were never completed in that form. For the 2026 release, the band kept the original sessions largely intact and presented the material mainly as an instrumental archival album.

Milad Tangshir performs guitars, keyboards, bass and programming, while Ashkan Hadavand contributes keyboards and synths. Mamy Baei also appears on bass and keyboards on the 2010 recordings.

The album was produced by Ahoora, recorded in Mosha and Tehran in 2010–2011, and originally mixed in Tehran in 2011. Tangshir completed the mastering in Turin in 2026.

We Were Here: Tehran 2011 is out now on Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp.
