Iranian progressive metallers Anoushbard have released a live video for “The Righteous Ardaviraf – Journey”, filmed during a performance in Tehran in June 2026.
Formed in Tehran in 2017, Anoushbard released the track as part of their second album, Abandoned Treasure, on 1 April 2023. “Journey” is the second part of the three-song “The Righteous Ardaviraf” sequence, alongside “Preparation” and “Return”.
The song is based on the story of Ardā Wīrāz, a Zoroastrian priest who undertakes a journey through the afterlife. Zoroastrianism, Persian history and related themes have been a central part of Anoushbard’s work.
Anoushbard have released two full-length albums to date: Mithra in 2020 and Abandoned Treasure in 2023.
“The Righteous Ardaviraf – Journey (Live)” is available now.
