Saudi melodic death metallers Wasted Land release new EP The Imperial Cycle

The three-track release revisits material from the Jeddah band’s catalogue, with the songs newly recorded after repeated requests from listeners.

Saudi melodic death metallers Wasted Land released their new EP, The Imperial Cycle, on 11 September 2026.

Formed in Jeddah in 2005, Wasted Land play melodic death metal with folk influences. The Imperial Cycle features three re-recorded tracks: “The Dying Empire”, “Carnage’s Wail” and “Exhumation”.

The band explained that the songs were revisited after requests from listeners, saying: “Songs you loved and asked us to re-record, finally recorded the way they were meant to sound from the beginning.”

“Exhumation” and “Carnage’s Wail” previously appeared on Wasted Land’s self-titled 2013 album.

In 2024, Wasted Land won the Wacken Metal Battle Middle East in Jeddah, earning the opportunity to represent the region at that year’s Wacken Open Air in Germany.

The Imperial Cycle is out now.
